This photo was taken on a beach in Skåne, when M and I was vacationing on Österlen.
On our walk up to Stens Huvud, I saw this alluring opening in the forest (which, by the way has also been shown recently on the LO "Just Relax") and I couldn't resist peeking out to see it, and breathe a little...
I guess I just accidentally quick started "my inner child", because I popped out of my sandals and splashed around in the water in a way I haven't done for over twenty years.
Sometimes, it just feels so good to lay off your "grown-up-ness" and do things for the FUN of it, without consideration to the fact that you're getting your pants wet all the way up to your waist, and that it might get a bit icky to walk in them afterwards...
(By the way, it wasn't that bad. It was a very hot day and having cooling pants wasn't the worst of ideas even if they got a bit shafey there for a while...)
Regardless of which, it made me think.
When you're a kid, you do things without a second thought. Just because you want to and because it makes you feel good NOW.
As you grow up, you start to worry about everything and everybody - but you forget to show that same respect and consideration to the part of you that still wants nothing more than to just go splashing in the water.
Let people stare.
They're just jealous, because deep inside, they wish that they, too, could put conventions aside and go splashing in the water, jumping into puddles, getting soaking wet - and having an amazing time while they do it!
It's worth it.
